My Job:
As Chief Mar­ket­ing Strate­gist for Penny / Ohlmann / Neiman, my job is to use my knowl­edge of busi­ness strat­egy, my pas­sion for cre­ative expres­sion, and my skills of com­mu­ni­ca­tion to help peo­ple achieve the remark­able.  I believe that Mar­ket­ing is both art and sci­ence -  using the uniquely human gifts of cre­ativ­ity and ana­lyt­i­cal think­ing to deliver some­thing of value to our world. Great mar­ket­ing is about exam­in­ing soci­ety, under­stand­ing the dynamic wants and needs of human beings, gaug­ing strengths and weak­nesses, con­sis­tently build­ing trust, and craft­ing sto­ries that res­onate deep within people’s hearts and minds.  Life is way too short.  I am for­tu­nate to be able to earn a liv­ing doing some­thing I enjoy so much.

My Back­ground:
I was born in Day­ton, Ohio, and I grew up in nearby Spring­field.  I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Polit­i­cal Sci­ence from Wright State Uni­ver­sity and my MBA with a con­cen­tra­tion in Mar­ket­ing from The Uni­ver­sity of Day­ton.  My pro­fes­sional career has taken me to small firms like Lucrum, Hafen­brack Mar­ket­ing, and Ohio Finan­cial Group and large cor­po­ra­tions such as Cin­tas, Reli­zon, and Reynolds & Reynolds, where I devel­oped and exe­cuted strate­gies for busi­ness growth.  I am also an accom­plished pre­sen­ter and pub­lic speaker – hav­ing addressed thou­sands of peo­ple at numer­ous insti­tu­tions and orga­ni­za­tions on top­ics such as social media, cre­ativ­ity, busi­ness, and marketing.

My Com­mu­nity:
I love Ohio.  Here in Day­ton, I am sur­rounded by fam­ily, friends, and friendly strangers — all of whose kind­ness and gen­eros­ity never ceases to amaze me.   The peo­ple of this com­mu­nity have given and con­tinue to give me so much, and every­day I try to use my tal­ents to give some­thing back.  I am active mem­ber of many pro­fes­sional, phil­an­thropic and com­mu­nity orga­ni­za­tions, includ­ing hav­ing served on the board of the Epilepsy Foun­da­tion of West­ern Ohio and chair­ing the Mar­ket­ing com­mit­tee of the Day­ton Rotary Club.  I am hon­ored to have been named as one of the Day­ton Busi­ness Journal’s Forty Under 40 for 2011.  I love Day­ton and the sur­round­ing region.  It is quite sim­ply one of the best places on earth to live, work, and play.

My Inspi­ra­tion:
By far, the most impor­tant part of my life is my fam­ily, whom I love with all my being.  They make life mean­ing­ful, inspire me to be a bet­ter man, and sup­port me with their unend­ing encour­age­ment and undy­ing love.  I wake up every day with a smile on my face that is a mile wide — they are why.  I strive to make them proud with my words and deeds.  Noth­ing mat­ters more to me.
