Burba Continues Late-Career Comeback Try

Dave BurbaI was shuffling through my Newsvines RSS feeds when I saw a name I recognized. It was pitcher Dave Burba. If ever you were looking for a sports hero to get behind, this is the guy. Dave is a 39 year old veteran baseball player, and one of the best people you could ever meet. Dave is back in spring training again, fighting to make the professional roster of the Seattle Mariners, the team that launched his professional career. He is a long-shot to many to make the team, but knowing Dave, I would not count him out just yet. The guy is all heart, and if it can be done, he will find a way. No matter what, he is an incredible guy and someone who I and a lot of others admire. Good Luck Dave!

i’ll always remember his mom walking up to me at the upper valley mall and saying, “my son plays for them!” i was wearing a seattle mariners hat. i think i was in the 7th or 8th grade. i know my dad always liked dave a lot. hope he makes it. also hope hermanson can get his closer job back for the white sox.
