No Itching

iStock_000007796386Small7 years ago today my wife Colleen and I were married.  It was one of the happiest days of my life.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  It was surreal in that time seemed to move both very slowly and vividly and yet very quickly at the same time.  Surrounded by family and friends, it was simply perfect.  While every day of life can’t be perfect, I can’t imagine mine being any closer to perfection in the days that have followed our saying “I do.”

We have lived a lot of life in the 7 years since that beautiful Saturday in October, 2002.  Kids, mortgages, grad school, job changes, unexpected events, wins, losses, highs, lows and plenty of in-betweens too.  Even in the toughest of times, Colleen has brought a deep sense of peace and balance to my life.  Regardless of what life brings, I know I am very lucky.  She has made me a better man.  She has given me purpose, meaning, strength and hope.  I love her with all my being.

As for the seven year itch, not so much as even a scratch.

Happy Anniversary Colleen.  I love you.

That WAS a great day. I love looking at the black and white photo in our living room, of you and Colleen with all the kids (except Jude and Ella, of course). Love you guys!

It is funny to see how little Abby, Maddie, and Tanner look in those pictures. They are not much older than Ella and Jude are now. Where does the time go?
