Seth Godin is an amazing author, marketing thought leader and agent of change. His brilliance was proven to me yet again, as I read through the pages of his latest book, Meatball Sundae. The book is about the alignment of an organization’s marketing with its cultural mindset and makeup. In the book Seth focuses heavily on “new media” as it pertains to organizational strategies for growth. It is not enough to just “start a blog” when an organization is stuck in the marketing and business model of the last century. Seth argues quite convincingly that a new mindset must accompany these new techniques to truly realize success. Again, I am reminded why I think this guy is so brilliant. I highly recommend getting yourself a heaping plate of Meatball Sundae. It is a great read for anyone looking to learn more about the future of marketing.
