One of my favorite people to follow on the web is PR Guru, Peter Shankman. Whether he is jumping out of airplanes, constructing an in-home social media battle station, or jetting from city to city, Peter is always up to something interesting. He is a pioneer in the use of social media and the founder of one of the most useful sites on the web – HelpAReporter.com . Peter was scheduled to come to Dayton, Ohio to speak to the Greater Dayton Advertising Association on April 2, 2009, but the event was cancelled due to some last minute complications.
I thought that perhaps the next best thing to actually having Peter here in Dayton to speak, was to have him speak to people via podcast. He was kind enough to spend some time chatting with me and sharing his thoughts on a variety of topics including his impressions of Dayton, Ohio, his newly constructed Social Media Monitoring Center, HARO, writing a book, Twitter, Customer Service, the future of journalism and more – all in under 14 minutes.
Thanks Peter for sharing your thoughts and insights, and I hope we get the chance to bring you to Dayton to speak in person sometime soon.
